Yeap TRUE ENOUGH. But for side walls that's not a problem, been there and done that. The top and bottom of pottery kilns are golden for top, bottom and door. But to be truthful mine was rectangular kiln.

You should consider a used Pottery Kiln. NOT for the kiln but for the bricks. I see them often on Craigs List, etc for cheap or give away. I lucked into one that someone used the wrong clay or something and destroyed the elements. I was extra lucky as it had 2" of extra insulation outside the...

I have and love my North Ridge grinder but it's no longer made. Reeder grinders are mentioned favorably on another knife maker forum I visit. Like stated above VS is a must along with the option of having two 1 1/2" tooling arms.

My teacher on making knives used timbering skidder cable used in logging. It was maybe 3/4' diameter. Forged welded ends first then twisted. Used a trip hammer and made thousands of knives. Borax is your friend.

I'll be the odd man out. The jig sells for less than this. I understand it supposedly comes with X tra clamp. BUT one can buy the jig new from owner for $625 with no risk.
