    They might make it a pain to clean. I'd probably think about filling them with brass or something. Other than that it's something I've been thinking about making.

    A vacuum pot would eliminate that. Perhaps use more epoxy and squeegee the excess from each layer as you add them, trying to eliminate air bubbles.

    Another part of this is many makers keep the not "perfect" knives for self use. I don't carry anything that isn't my best work. I use what I carry as a sales aid. I show it to everyone and have sold many knives this way. Why carry second best? And like many others nothing but my best makes...

    My forge is made from soft fire bricks. It's coated with itc100 and bubble alumina. I use the fan in the link below and started with a 1/8" nozzle. I've reduced that to .110 and need to reduce further because I'm unable to reduce the temperature enough. I turned it down after it reached 2350...

    I finally got around to building my press. 7' 2" tall. 4" cylinder, 12" throw, 11 gpm pump, 5 hp 3650 rpm motor. And the first knife from it.
