    Kiribati knifes

From what I've read, for a right handed person the bevel would be facing toward the right. Check this link: https://a.co/d/0bKlJwjE to see what they call a right hand

    VFD and Motor Wiring

OK, I understand a bit better now (coffee's kicked in?). AS Sean said, you'll need to look at the motor nameplate to check the wiring there. It'll show low voltage ( 220vac which is what you'll want) and high voltage (460vac). The KBAC manual has pretty good wiring info - the motor will have...

    VFD and Motor Wiring

Larry, I guess my coffee hasn't kicked in yet, but I'm a bit confused about what you're asking. Are you saying you have an existing KMG that has a 3ph motor with a KBAC VFD that's working. KMG has a good setup there for sure. Are you asking how to wire up an additional 3ph motor and KBAC...

Big Brut-de-Forge Bowie in Desert Ironwood

    That sure is a NICE Desert Ironwood burl for sure. Very nice. What type of finish is on the blade? Would you share how you did it? Good job all around - a knife you can be proud of... or should I say sword? {g}

    110vac VFD drives

I remember how hard it's been to find a 120 vac input VFD. Here's a HUANYANG VFD Variable Frequency Drive,1 Phase Input, 3 Phase 0-400HZ Output, 2.2kW 3HP for $95 shipped. Of course this is a NEMA 1 enclosure, but with filters over the air inlets that's not so much of a problem. A 1.5KW 2hp...

    Dagger construction

I am NOT an expert on daggers. The very next step (for me) would be to weld the threaded extension, then Ht'ing. Heating after the extension is welded on will help release the stresses that build up during welding. I'm a big fan of profiling (including thinning down to final thickness)...

“This knife was forged from steel that already existed during 14th-century medieval sieges in southern France.”

That is impressive - and the story behind the knife is interesting. Truly a one of a kind knife

I just got a reply from Paul - he's been having health issues, but hopes to be back soon.

    Has anyone checked on Opaul/

Now you mention it I've not seen him lately - checking it shows his last post was Jan 1, 2026, the before that was Dec 11, 2025. I sure hope he's ok. Isn't his name Paul Bunch? I've sent him an email to make sure everything is ok.

Need help for a stupid mistake

Taz537, what part of the world are you in for $13/liter? That's expensive. When I first started buying LN a few yrs ago I was paying 50¢/liter. Now it's up to 80¢ (USD) last I purchased a couple months ago. 5 months holding? That's NICE - my 10 liter dewar only lasts perhaps 6 wks or so.

    Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has messed up more than one weight loss series I've had. Hopefully I'll hang true this time and not overeat. BOY do I LOVE eating! Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Wilson 4jr hardness tester questions and help

Have you checked the Index Lever Adjustment as shown on page 10 of the manual linked to on the other forum? While that manual has lots of good info, it doesn't seem to cover much on calibration. I've got good detailed calibration instructions for the HR-150 clone, but not sure if it has...

    Anvil choice??

I took stock of what I use the anvil for, so I cancelled the Vevor order. I'll just fasten the old 70 lb anvil down and use what I've got, it should be OK.

    Anvil choice??

You use the 66 lb anvil more than the 128 lb Peter Wright? I thought the PW anvils where the best of the best, and more weight was better? Who knows, I might find I like my old 70 lb anvil ok. This is it, and it's not really all that bad. Perhaps for my use it's all I need?

    Anvil choice??

$120? WOW - that was a deal. I just placed an order for the 110 lb Vevor anvil, hopefully it will be ok. It seems most all of those Chinese anvils perhaps come out the same factory, so it's either a $200 range Chinese anvil, or a $1,000 for a USA made anvil. "IF" I were a really serious...

    Anvil choice??

That J Nielson anvil (Made in Texas, USA) sure is a nice anvil, but at $1154 (not sure if free shipping or not) it's a tad pricey for me. I could "get by" with my existing 70 lb anvil, but it's in sorta rough shape. The two anvils I show above are in the $200 range shipped, and have decent...
