Leather for knife maker Chad Cunningham

Its been a while since I posted pics of Chads work, this fellas craft just keeps getting better and better. I love the color on those blue/green handles. I've got a few more I'd like to show as I get them dug out of the archives. His tiny little knives are a big hit, my wife carries one daily...

    Kydex Sheaths Recently Completed

This thread is nearly a year old, its best to contact the maker directly. K Robinson has been off the various forums for a while now, I haven't heard from him in quite some time. Hopefully he will pop up eventually.

    Suggestions on a Maul

 I had the plastic headed version for a very long time till I finally held my breath and spent the money on my first "expensive" maul. The results were night and day, I dont know how I'd ever go back to that awful plastic mallet. Those little wooden ones are even lighter than the...

My 12 oz flat faced is my most used as well, it seems to be the perfect weight to control light stamping, my next purchase is that 12 oz round maul at Tandy. At a tad over 50.00 its a bargain for what it can do. I have a pair of two pounders, one rawhide and one synthetic. I keep going back...

    Thoughts on edge stitching?

Its times like this when I miss Dave Cole the most, he was the true master of lacing. A very close second would be Kid Terico, I'd pull on his ear for some tips.

    Differnent view of sheaths

Taking out that busy background did wonders! My eye had a hard time keeping still. Shaking is a big issue with photography, I use breathing techniques similar to target shooters. Press that shutter button on the breath out. I like natural light for my stuff, but it can be a real trial when...

That hammer you saw is a Cobblers Hammer. They used to sell them at the Leather Factory, but discontinued them a couple of years ago. They're pretty common on ebay though, I saw a couple of heads recently. They're not bad on the price but be prepared to refinish the face, most old ones are not...

    Suggestions on a Maul

You are correct! I went there yesterday and found a whole new world. I have one of their catalogs from a few years back, I'll see if I can find it and let you know. I do know that their prices were very reasonable. I'll have to give them a call and see whats up.

    Suggestions on a Maul

A 12oz maul will cover 90% of your needs. There are less expensive options I've seen out there, one being Weaver leather iirc. I'll look it up and make sure. But they had some really nice prices and I will be getting a light maul from them soon. Too big a maul will be counter productive as its...

I've got this mallet, its heavy and gives a nice firm stamp every time, but you've got to be spot on. http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/search/searchresults/35004-10.aspx I've also got two heavy mauls for stamping large prints, and heading for the 1 pound maul for light taps. The nice...

    My latest sheath covers

Looks like your coming along well! As the old saying goes, practice practice practice. One thing that sticks out to me is some of your frames are thicker toward the top and thinner at the bottom, is this on purpose? It happens to me when I mis measure the blank and it ends up short...
