    DVD Passaround

Let's freeze this right here for a bit, nothing against you, but we need to make sure this is ok before we continue. It has been an issue in other places so I just want to make sure we don't step on any toes. When we get the ok then were good to go. I appreciate your understanding. Chuck...

Trying Concealex for the first time and I have a question...

Kydex or Concealex, I use my utility knife and score it a few times (2 or 4 usually works) and snap it. Might have to use a pair of pliers to snap the small bits, at least I do, darn stuff is sharp. Edit: :snicker: It just dawned on me, kydex advice from the leather man, heh heh heh.

    Full time?

Thank you Chad, that means a lot to me. Yup, we're hanging on by our fingernails, barely, but still in the shop working my tail off as long as I am capable. Full time sheath making is definitely not for the weak of heart especially in this economic climate. A serious passion for...

How many sheaths did you have to make...

Never stop learning and practicing, if one does, one becomes stagnant. I've seen it too often happen to good crafters. I love discovering a "new to me" technique, but the feeling of "Why the heck didn't I think of that before?!" is a little frustrating. :9:
  18. leatherman

What do you do with the scraps?

Sounds very familiar Dave. I too have issues throwing away anything but the smallest scraps, and now have buckets of the stuff stored everywhere in the shop. Honestly thinking about giving a bunch away to a few needy new leather crafters. I feel like the hoarders on TV, its everywhere...

    ugly but there mine

Ya know, your not too far off the track. Natural coloring is a good thing. but, unintended natural coloring can be a disaster. :what!: and a good hard allergic sneeze can be a total wash out,.... or a really cool spotted effect.

    ugly but there mine

Very true. Nothing more frustrating than nearly finishing a sheath only to slip with the stitching groover or better yet spill coffee on it.
