Tomahawk drift from The Blacksmith Depot

I'd try it like it is unless it's so rough you can't use it. Some roughness won't make any difference but if you need to, it won't hurt to polish it on a slack belt. They last a long time, I've made many thousands of heads with my shop made mild steel one and it's still just fine. If it...

    Washers in a Sodbuster

Yup, I use Loctite 330 for the liners & scales. I also use it for holding things temporarily for drilling, etc., but you sometimes have to use a propane torch to get it to release if you use too much. "Thanks for the tutorial. Excellent presentation. I would just add if you don't have a...

    Washers in a Sodbuster

A while back someone asked me how I install washers in shadow pattern slipjoints so here's my method..... In this picture you can see that the milled liners and .125" black Micarta scale material are glued together. The .250" brass rod is center drilled 3/32" and on the spot on the side...

    Dogs & Lyme disease

Jim, I am so sorry to hear about this diagnosis. Makes my problem seem pretty trivial. I didn't know that loss of appetite, dog or human, was a symptom of Lyme. Now a mission of mine to make sure everyone else does. I don't know, maybe that's the reason I had to lose Shamus. Keith

    Dogs & Lyme disease

Thanks, guys. I can deal a lot easier with the death of a pet when their life span has run it's course but Shamus was only 6. I didn't recognize the Lyme symptoms soon enough so that makes it even tougher.

    Dogs & Lyme disease

There's a lump in my throat I can't swallow today folks, we had to put Shamus down. The vet was worried about his kidneys when I first took him in and had a blood test. Its been more than 2 weeks since we finished the antibiotics and he was again getting more reluctant to eat. The tests today...

    Dogs & Lyme disease

Thanks for all the thoughts & prayers guys. Good news. Shamus is more active in the last couple of days and he's eating a little more now. Hopefully he's turned the corner we've been waiting for. 6 1/2 more days of pills. Thanks, Keith

    Dogs & Lyme disease

Shamus is a mere shadow of what he should be. The vet was ready to throw in the towel after 2 weeks but I'm not. I'm spooning food in several times a day, and my wife tempts him with tidbits from the refrigerator, but he eats very little on his own. Right now I'd say he's just holding his...

    Dogs & Lyme disease

Thank you guys. Shamus has perked up a bit I think, but I'm still spoon feeding him, hoping he'll start eating on his own and gain some weight back soon

    Dogs & Lyme disease

Early this spring my dog started skipping a meal now and then. He's about 6 now and I didn't think too much of it. Then he wouldn't eat dog food but would eat tidbits from the table. I thought maybe he had a stomach problem, but when I took him to the vet, he tested positive for Lyme disease...
