    Would you say 800 grit , would be high enough for a mirror finish after buffing? I'm at 800 grit and was wanting to know if i should go higher grit,1000, 1200. 1500,or where do you stop. thanks vern

    Ernie I have a jig somewhat like that and i take a pencil and run a square line on the belt, a heavy line to make sure it is in the same spot for both sides. the thing that makes mine different is that i put a shelf on mine between the leather for the blade to sat on so they are the same on...

    well i'm tight ! the wife wants to paint the inside of the garage, so i told her that i had some paint. so i mix all the cans of latex paint in a 6 gal. bucket and mixed it up and i said here. well it is light gray. I think she will be adding more white to it. vern

    Adding an avatar.

    Your picture will need to be about 100 x 75 pic. you need to load it to photobucket or where ever you store them and then try loading them to your avatar. so you need to browse for it til you come to where ever it is where you stored it. vern

    Need heat treat recipe for 1095

    bd : this is on that Stacy says to use. 1095 slow heat to 1525 , soak for 4 to 5 min bigger blade , smaller blades 3 to 4 min. Oil should be 130 to 140f. Park#50 Temp @450 2 times for 2 hours at a time, with cool-down between vern
