    Headed to a fight

    Murph was kind enough to handle the sheath on this one. It is headed to Afghanistan on monday. It was made according to the soldiers specs, 8" cutting edge, 13" overall. I did choose the steel, 52100. And a micarta handle. I hope it serves him well.

    burned knives

    2 knives that my brother in law found in what was his house. He was burned out in one of our fires we have been having in the last few weeks. These were two Christmas gifts from several years ago, I am going to reheat treat and handle, and give them to him again next Christmas.:biggrin:

    sizing damascus?

    I have a press which I am extremely happy with, however, I have trouble getting my billets less than 1/4" thick, and 1/8 is almost impossible. Is there a tool that would be best to get this last little bit? Hammer? Roller mill? The only blanchard grinder in my part of the world has proven...

    turkey creek fighter

    This knife was made almost entirely from drops from other projects. 1095, 1084, 1080, 15n20, and nickel blade. Guard and pommel are mild steel and nickel left over from some spurs I made. Mesquite handle that came out of one of my trees. 6" cutting edge, 11" over all. Chad

    National Guard rules

    A young lady that has spent a lot of time under my roof will be leaving for Afghanistan in about a month, and I would like to send a knife with her. There are rules I'm sure as to size,etc, and was hoping someone could explain them to me. Thanks, Chad
