    Has anyone retrofitted their kmg classic 3 speed to run in reverse as well as forward? I ordered the part not think it couldn't be done just wanted to see if anyone else has done it and if I'm about to mess up my motor on my grinder if I do.

    Yes it's the 3 spd pulley. I have been flirting with the idea of getting a 4 step pulley's but haven't made my mind up yet. I know I have a VFD with the bigger motor but don't have the power capacity right now in my shop.

    So today was the first day I've been able to work in the shop all day for a while. While working my kmg just shut down on me. I felt the motor and it was hot!! So I'm letting it cool over night. But don't remember them having a function to turn off when to hot. Could I have a bigger issue??

    Sure thing I am using Nitro-V and I have some D2 I've been needing to treat too. And I have been giving (in a sense) a Dewar I just had to pay the money to fill it.

    Ok I have been giving a Dewar that does not have a bigger mouth and can NOT afford a new one right now. But I have some nitro v chef knives I need to do. How can I do those??

    What is the set up for a cryo cycle? With liquid nitrogen? Do I just put my blades on a wire and put them in my Dewar to soak? And what about bigger blades that won't fit in the Dewar?

    so I have 24 of them normalizing in the oven the last 5 I took to my forge heated to nonmagnetic and quenched in cool water from the hose. they are showering sparks now.

    a few weeks ago from New Jersey steel barron. but a friend of mine got some bars from the same batch and used water and his harden just fine.

    yes with a file and ive clean the decarb off the edges and even tried sticking a piece of flint to see if they would spark.

    also no. I wasn't aware I needed to check it. its steel pretty new and all the knives I've treated have harden just fine. it has been a proven oven...so far.

    they are of my own design but basically a inch wide 2 in long and .125 thick. more like a pendent.

    I bought me a bar of 1095 .125x1"x48" to make some fire strikers out of I tried heat treating them and it didn't. And suggestion. I used my paragon over got them to 1475 soaked for 10-15 then quenched in extra virgin olive oil preheated to 125 degrees. I was thinking of using water next.

    I'm looking to get into a different stainless than my normal cpm154. I've had enough of the sandy grit I seem to find when getting my egde thinned out. What is a good alternative?
