    Anler scales!

Well coming along Mother of Pearl inlays done! I epoxied these in first cut very short SS pins and epoxied those into one of the scales. The MOP went in way easier than I thought it would! I used a Brad point kinda drill bit to countersink the pieces. Very happy how they came out and would...

The Elite is the Ken Onion with a small belt grinder attachment added to the package. You can swap out the standard KO attachment for the belt style.

    Work Sharp Elite

So I bought a Work Sharp Elite sharpening system. I debated it but decided to go for it. I really like it so far. I took it upstairs and put it in the Kitchen and sharpened EVERYTHING!! LOL!! Only thing I'm regretting is not thinking about belt size it's 1x18 so obviously a strange size. There...

    Dion Damascus

Yeah I agree. I have 4 or 5 billets left so I guess I'll just use them up. It's unfortunate I liked the billets and they were a decent price!

    Dion Damascus

Anyone know if he is still in business?? I use to buy his DAM100 billets they were reasonably priced and made a nice knife! Matter of fact after he discontinued the DAM100 I contacted him and bought up his last few remaining billets! I still have a couple I didn't remember having (going thru...

AEB – L dry ice question

Depending on the thickness you for sure can experience warping. I took a class with Jordan Lamothe and he told the class if your gonna make thin knives your gonna have to deal with warping. That in mind I deal with warping when it happens.

AEB – L dry ice question

I'm sure you'll get some different recipes? Mine is as follows, I cut a bunch of blanks (6-10) at a time to maximize my dry-ice. Heat treat them all in my oven (after H/T i have all the blanks that i can grind if someone wants a fillet or paring knife), then put as many blades as I can on my...

    Impala Horn Filler

I would get some of the Amazing Clear epoxy then you can color it in case you grind thru. This is the same stuff they use to make handles. I would get it at Michael's and look for a coupon too. Mix 50/50 put some heat to it to get rid of bubbles. Good to go! PS if you wanted to lighten it up...

    Anler scales!

Have one side roughed in but the other side is giving me a PITA!! Boiled it again today back in the vice! Spending way to much time on these! Learned a bunch though! If I ever do this again I'll do things a bit differently for sure. I can't see me doing them in the near future though! Gonna need...

    Anler scales!

Boiled and back in the vice! Hopefully the curl that occurred after I removed it from the vice will be gone or removable with some sanding?? These are a lot of work and as I said I won't be doing them again. Does it work yes but a jigged bone would be a better choice IMO? Anyway I will follow up...
