    When using a pivot head set for a foldiner, is it usual to glue the screws to prevent potential loosening? Do most people use washers at the blade? When peening pins in 416 ss, is there an advantage in using nickel silver pins or should the pin be the same material as the plate?

    Have some '2-56 X 1/4″ Diameter Short Socket Head Screws' from Ti Connectors. For the ignorant who are only familiar with metric, what do I use to put a female thread in some metal for these little boy? Will they just thread them selves if the hole is close to size?

    Hello KD's, Has anyone used the sandblaster type cabinets to finish blades? You can use garnet or glass bead or similar in the cabinet. Just wondered if anyone has found this type of thing useful in finishing or assisting to finish blades.

    Hi I have read that not all hardening steels will produce a visible hamon? Basic carbon steels, such as 1095, 1084, 1075 will do it, with W2 producing some great hamons.     Cheers to KnfeDogs from down under in Australia. Question from a novice. When I make a knife I heat and quench, then temper in an oven. Watching 'Forged in Fire' the blacksmiths don't appear to do the temper step. Or do they? Can anyone explain to me what the difference is or what it is I am not...
