I am thinking of taking up a new hobby,axe throwing. I have about 12 feet of saw mill bandsaw blades,15n20. Do I need to heat treat it if I’m careful no to over heat it while profiling and beveling? They will be full tang.

Has anyone worked with Hawaiian Ohia? I have some very old and dry pieces. Wondering about best finishes. I’ve heard it’s an oily wood so will west systems epoxy work well.

Instead of using the wife’s kitchen stove to temper my 1095 and 15n20 will a convection toaster oven do the trick or should I just use a normal nonconvection toaster oven? The convection types seam to be a little larger.

I make my own micarta. I’ve used paper,denim, cotton,burlap,duck,with west system epoxy. Has anyone used spandex? And how did it turn out?

Can I some tips from you guys on how you polish your home made micarta? And do you prefer a grippy finish or a smooth glassy finish?
