    Looking for a Mike Morey...

Anybody here know of a maker named Mike Morey in Arizona? I bought a knife at an art/jewelry shop in Scottsdale where there were several damascus knives on display with a little bit of info about the maker. Shop owner said he has a website, but I have not found him on-line anywhere.

Filet Knife Sheath I just finished. Oops'd on the dye job...

Finished this one up this past weekend. Had a dye job oops that I tried to work around. I was being really careful about keeping the darker border dye off the basket weave so I could antique it. Let that dry and decided to dye the back side (inside). Flipped it over on a clean paper towel and...

    Wooden sheath experiment

So I saw a knifemaker's site with beautiful knives and he had interesting sheaths for them that were basically a wooden body with a leather top or collar warp around the handle. Thought I'd play with something similar. I have a small fillet knife that needs new sheath, so here's what I've come...

    Working on my leathercraft skills...

...and my patience. Getting that basket weave to look good is a challenge. And for some reason you can't just go back to 120 and sand it out again ;-(

    I'm into recycling...

Hi all, I'm pretty new here and can't compare my work to the veteran knifemakers in this group, but I'm having fun. I'm not a metal worker or into forging, mostly a woodworker. Thought I'd share a few items with you. A couple of recycle projects and a kit or two I finished or am working on. I...

Is this a good blade blank candidate?

Hi all, I picked up this file at a yard sale for a 25 cents and and am wondering if it is a good candidate for my first attempt at grinding a blade. It is about 10" long and tapers from about 5/32 at one edge down to about 1/32 at the other. I'm thinking I've already got a nice even taper built...

    Greetings from Maple Grove, MN

Hi all - Greetings from Maple Grove, MN! I posted this info in somebody else's intro post earlier this week, but thought I'd make a new one too. Sorry for the duplication... I'm new to this forum and knifemaking... well knife "handling" is more appropriate. I have put handles on about a half...
