On pretty much all of my fixed blade knives I leave .050 before heat treating. Then post heat treat/temper I grind to .015-.020. This includes knives I have done in A-2.

I have heard a lot about flattening the detent ball to help the tension (pop) on a flipper. My question – what is the best process for flattening a ceramic detent ball?

Here is my first pocket knife I made and I am pretty pleased with it. I used the Rotty Medium drill template from USA Knifemakers and it was a lifesaver along with Tracy's videos on youtube. If anyone every wants to try it I would highly recommend it.
