    Evening I had an old maple fall in the swamp, going to cut it up for fire wood as it is hollow inside but there where a couple burls I cut off and sawed up this afternoon. anyone have any advise on how to process them? I cut them about 1 3/4" thick and put them on a shelf in the shed to dry out...

    Hello i purchased a sheet of stencils from T.U.S. tech. And am building in an etching machine from red beard ops video. Question on the stencils, do I need to do anything to prep It before use? I saw one video were the stencil was in a bowl of water before it was used. thank you vern

    Good evening I finished my blade this evening. Ladder Pattern Damascus, brass bolster, buffalo horn spacer and walnut handle. Thanks everyone for the advice and assistance. Sheath is next.

    I had read some thing while researching etching to submerge in muratic acid for 10 mins. I will pick up some white vinagr and give that a try. Thank you

    I bought a new gallon of muratic acid from Lowes today. had polished the knife to 400 grit, in the acid for 10 mins and could Hadley see the pattern, did another 10 mins and still not what I expected. How do I get the pattern to stand out? Thank you

    I quenched today, brought it up to 1475 and could keep it between there and 1480 pretty easily. quenched after a 7 min soak in Parks 50. blade appears to be hard and have done one 2 hour temper at 450 degrees, have another one to go. I did not do any grinding on the blade prior to quenching...
