    Evening I had an old maple fall in the swamp, going to cut it up for fire wood as it is hollow inside but there where a couple burls I cut off and sawed up this afternoon. anyone have any advise on how to process them? I cut them about 1 3/4" thick and put them on a shelf in the shed to dry out...

    Maker mark stencil

    Hello i purchased a sheet of stencils from T.U.S. tech. And am building in an etching machine from red beard ops video. Question on the stencils, do I need to do anything to prep It before use? I saw one video were the stencil was in a bowl of water before it was used. thank you vern

    I am pleased with my profile, going with brass bolsters and wood handle with brass pins. Is it better to Grind the blade before hardening? Thanks Vern

    Hello from VA

    Been making knives on and off since I was in the service almost 40 years ago, decided I want to lean more about the art and get more serious about it. This site appears yo be more to my style. I am working on a Damascus camp knife and will have some question on tempering. Thanks Vern
