    Pants = Pooped

I just had a 60 grit do this to me while finishing up the last little bit of a primary grind before moving up a grit. I had to move my grinder, there was a pile of poo where I used to have it. Lol Also, the knife had a 1/4" chunk taken out of the edge. Junked. Dang.

    Baby is coming early

My wife had cholestatis (not spelled right I know) with all five of our kids. It sucks and is scary. It can cause fetal death even right before they are born. Every single one of our kids was born right around 35 weeks. Congrats on the baby and glad everyone is doing well! Remember to...

Justin Presson, my first year review

Also, Darrin is a great guy and a heck of a heat treater. I've got a couple 52100 chef's knives going to him hopefully soon. Gives good advice too. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Where to buy rise/fall indicator

That is very true. I've done something similar with a piece of PG O1. It is a pain trying to do several knives in different patterns. I want an adjustable one. Calvin, I still want to learn to do a liner lock from you. Life got kind of crazy, I'll get with you hopefully soon! Sent from...

    Where to buy rise/fall indicator

I would like to buy a rise fall indicator for my slipjoints. Riverside has some, but I don't like the original Ruple design as well as the newer designs where the knob to lock the slide is on the top. Tracy is out of stock, and I think they said they'd be out of stock for several weeks. I...

Yeah, that works too. Why not just use blue painter's tape and tape the blade up to prevent scratches?

    Wheeler Inspired small fixed blade

I am too, but I'm a fan of his work ethic and his attention to detail. His stellar knives are just the result of his insane attention to detail. He'd be as good making pipes, gardening, or fixing cars, if he were so inclined. They are. Good eye. I'd like to talk to you about some stuff sometime...

    Wheeler Inspired small fixed blade

Darrin, I weighed it this morning. 0.9 oz. This thing is super light, and makes feather sticks like no other. I got bored at the park......

    Wheeler Inspired small fixed blade

I didn't even think about weighing it. I'll have to do that. I think I took a spine shot. I'll have to look through my pictures. Great job on ht, by the way. Spot on sir. It is looking like I'll have at least two more to send you though. Apparently other people like it too. :)

    Wheeler Inspired small fixed blade

Nick Wheeler made a small paring knife the other day, which was the inspiration for this pattern. It's about 5 3/4" oal, .080" stock. The steel is belt finished 52100, curly maple scales with brass pins and an oil and varnish finish. Heat treat by Darrin Sanders to 62 rockwell. I can't wait to...

Help with m390/cpm20cv, grinding and general advice needed.

Thanks Darrin. That's good to know. Eases my mind more than a little bit. I need to drop you another $20 in the mail, I forgot over the weekend with work and everything. Btw, did that small tapered tang necker warp at all? That was a mistake becoming a feature kind of instance......

Help with m390/cpm20cv, grinding and general advice needed.

I've a customer who wants a small necker in m390. Just to verify, I've seen m390 called cpm20v, but usaknifemaker has cpm20cv. They are the same, right? I'd assume so, but you know what happens when you assume. The stock is 0.093", and I'm assuming a pain to grind. I'm also assuming, given...

    Peening Anvil

That is very slick. Interesting idea. This is the one I made, if you don't mind me putting it in your thread. The steel base is right about 8" square and the whole thing weighs around 32 pounds.
