Here’s a little better look at the wood on that one.
I’m a fan of large pins as well. I’m gravitating more and more toward all large pins.

I’m kind of lucky when it comes to nice wood. I have a close friend who is a Holland and Holland articled stock maker. He lets me have scraps and the occasional broken stock.
 
This one was made from a 100+ year old H&H double rifle. The original stock was broken when it fell out of a safari Jeep and was unrepairable, so I got the pieces.

Thank you. I’m seeing some progress with each knife. If I can get time to get in the shop and grind 5-6 blades I find I make bigger strides. Starting and stopping kills my muscle memory.
