A New knife i just started.

Jeff Pearce

KNIFE MAKER
Here's a new one i just started, still trying to get the profile right I think i need to thin the handle area some more. It is Ironarmsknives Damascus billet. This is my first damascus knife that i will have made. It is 9.5 " long and the blade is 1/4" thick .here's a few pictures.

Rock on, Jeff!

Time to knock out a WIP thread my friend - we already missed the pattern and profiling...but you can hook us up with the rest.

ps - no shots of a clean drill press with the blank on the table either :) we want grit under the fingernails!

Here's a few of me working on the new knife..

Lookin good. I'll have to take some pics when I get started this afternoon. I'm starting my second blade today!!! Eventually, I'll finish getting my first blade ready for HT.

Murph

The blade and handle are darn nice and has been a popular full tang knife in my shop. For some reason I have seen more orders for the wider blades this year.

How the heck do you guys keep your shops so pristine? Mine looks like a dirty bomb was detonated in the middle of it. Yours could double for a hospital.

Nice knife, by the way.

Jeff,
Blade looks great, and its good to see that wheel spinning. Mine will be up and runnin soon. I'm thinking that there really should be more "steel dust" on those mini blinds tho...hehehehe 2thumbs

Nice knife bro. I love the Matthews shirt! Switchback xt for me.
I may have to build me a work rest and try it. The pics of your blade on it looks like it would help with control.
I dont know that I need a 10 inch wheel but its hard not buy one for that price.

I hear ya' there man! LOL I've barely even STARTED with knives, and I barely have room for my car at night. I have about 8 hobbies that take precedence over cleaning.

Nice looking blade!

I was a mechanic most of my life. so i kept my tools in order and kept my shop clean so i could find all my tools and make my job easier..i guess i just kept that up in my knife making also. i just makes it easier to clean up after your done for the day than it is to try and fight your way thru a mess. I hate searching for a tool becuase the shop is out of order . And the real reason is that if i Did not keep it clean the wife would kick my butt....lol..

Now I feel better. Katie said that once it is organized it should stay that way. And with four shop vacs there is no reason for it to be dirty. Lets be real gentlemen when the Boss speaks we listen. But great start Jeff. Like the grind and like the rest.

here's a couple pictures of the blade after dipping in ferric cholride sorry for the bad pictures i was in a hurry
