Antler handle

After being bitten by the hidden tang bug, and being gifted a very nice Elk antler, I came up with this.
It’s not finished, I’m still trying to decide what to use as a butt cap, and I had to square up the guard with the ricasso a little bit better. But it’s ciming together.

Finally got the knife finished. I went with a brass butt cap. I ended up securing it to the handle with 3 brass pins and peened them down like with a bolster. I cut some little notches in the pins in the lathe to help hold the pins in the antler and epoxied the in as well.
