Any ideas for wood knives??

I want to get into wood carving just a little bit and I figured I'd start by making my own carving knife. Does anyone have any ideas about what design would work better. Maybe even patterns??

I'd look at the Mora 106 or 120. In fact, if you want to carve wood, you should buy one and use it before you make a carving blade. Always helps to have something to compare to. Be forewarned-you'll be hard pressed to make a knife that does what the Mora does as well.
