Hey guys Im wanting to get some rubber small wheels for my small wheel attachment.
I have one from knifegrinderparts.com I will attach a pic of it.
I have the steel ones I bought when I originally purchased it. It was a great deal at the the time but I need the rubber upgrade.
I dont want to go out and drop $200 on 3 small wheels. So who has the best price?
Also Anthony I remeber you posting a video of making some but I dont have access to a metal lathe which I think you used.

Thanks for the help.

Justin, I was in the same boat. $60 a pop for small wheels made it worth my while to experiment with making my own. It turns out my homemade wheels work great.

I used rubber drum sander parts. All diameters have a hole in the middle for a 1/2" shaft. This $17 kit gives you 1", 1.5", an 2" rollers. There are other kits with more sizes.

Then you need bearings for your small wheel attachment. I use the KMG small wheel which seems fairly standard. I needed R6 bearings. Here's a set of 10 for $12

So, for about $30 I was able to make three small wheels and have parts left over to make several more.

For shafts, I turned the shafts on my lathe out of some cheap hot rolled steel from the local big box hardware store.

Thanks John. Good info but my only problem is I do not have a lathe.

I turned my shafts so that the bearings are slip fit. To keep them on, I took a center punch and dinged the shaft next to the inner race of the bearing. I'm sure I could get the bearing off to replace it if I ever had to. The rubber drum sander part I fixed in place with super glue.

The drum sander rubbers have a seam where they are molded, but it's never once given me any issue with finish. I was going to sand the seam off and then discovered it's a total non-issue.
