Can anyone help me Identify this knife type. This belonged to my Father-in Law who passed away over 30 years ago. My wife doesn't know anything about this knife
The knife is over 13" long Marked on one side of the blade is "CPL Harry P. Flies USMC HQ Co 3rd Bat 26th Marines" Other side is marked "By Don Mac Phail, Marstigus, Mich" . I think this is correct information as lettering is scratched into the knife and very hard to read. I suspect this knife was used in either WW I or WWII. I have looked up the 26th Marines and they were involved in the Pacific theater, but that was all I found. Maybe someone my have more information I can use. Thank you in advance.
