I have been thinking about a frame handle in my future. Some things I have noticed from research on the subject is that its not easy especially with out a surface grinder. You need the frame to be the same thickness as the ricasso or its gonna look funny.

I thought of that but with a guard breaking the line up it is not as bad. Also, my plan is to make the frame from the same stock as the knife so they will be the same thickness at least near the ricasso, depending on the balance I may have to grind a distal taper in the frame. As big as my blade is I doubt that will be necessary.
