Dyeing Wood??

I wanted to dye some maple wood for a handle. Any ideas on how to get them blue, green, or purple? Excuse my ignorance.

Usually the wood you are thinking about is stabilized, and dyed, the dye being added in the stabalization process. It is very good looking wood. Other than that I guess you could use stain, but I dont think you will get the colors you are looking for.
Mark, from Burl Source does some very nice looking wood (stabilized and dyed). He has a forum here

I am going to try some home stabilization. I have jars and a vacuum sealer. Going to try some MinWax wood preserver. I thought I might try to add some dye if I could find it.

Thanks

I think MinWax makes stain in different color? Blue - Green - Purple?

I don't know how it would hold up for a knife handle, all my wood I use is stabilized.
Accept for the ones like Black Wood - Iron Wood.......;)
