Just finished this one up for a friend who got me some elk horn . This is my first time working with horn, ususally use micarta, G10 or stabilized wood. The horn was interesting to work with and took some planning and work to get ready for a suitable knife scale. The material was tougher and more durable than I expected.
The steel is .130 thick oversized D2, 1" wide, flat grind, HT by Seth Barton (thanks again), elk scales with 2 mild steel pins, OAL 7 3/4" and blade is 3 3/4". Sheath is 8-9 oz. leather.
For a first time using horn I am happy with this one.
