Grizzly Height Gauge

Let me start off by saying wow. About a year and a half ago, I tried to buy a Grizzly 6" height gauge. They were back ordered, and I waited 6 months and finally gave up. Bought a $50 height gauge off of Amazon. Little did I know the difference. Having a carbide scriber is HUGE. Just got the Grizzly today, and scribed one that I have been working on. Night and Day difference. I couldn't be happier.

It's well worth the money. With shipping, it was like $63. Along with a surface plate, it's pretty invaluable. I just wish I had gotten this one to begin with.

It absolutely is invaluable. Way too cheap not to have. I’ve been using the same carbide insert since I got mine years ago.

Not only is it perfect for marking centerlines on blades, it’s great for layout on guards and all sorts of things.

Me too. One corner is starting to wear down, so I've been thinking about getting a new insert to a couple of months now. It doesn't look like Grizzly sells just the insert. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Funny you mention that. I was thinking to replace mine as well. Now that I think about it, I’ll bet we can just grind the top angle to refresh the sharp pointy edge / corners. That would leave the bottom and measuring edge exactly where they are.
