Has anyone?

I was wondering if anyone has tried those mills that go on a drill press. Now I know it isn't going to be as good as a reg mill which I used decades ago but would it be ok for basic work for like stright lines on a blade?

I wouldn't advise it. Drill presses aren't designed for side loads. Since the spindle is tapered and the chuck is just a friction fit, sooner or later it will come flying off. I would hate to have a drill chuck with a sharp cutter in it flying around that close to me.

Ditto to what Darrin said..... and I would add, you'll tear up your drill press in fairly short order using in that manner..... the spindle bearings simple won't handle it.

I tried it once and as soon as there was any pressure to the side of the mill the chuck and it went flying across the room.
