I need some steel advice

I picked up a piece of 52100 today. I was hoping that this steel, in the dimensions available, would be a great solution to my search for a useable knife steel. I thought that I had done a good search on the qualities of the steel..... But now, I am not so sure! Can anyone point me to reliable, consistent information on annealing, tooling and heat treating 51200 in 1/8 x 1 1/2" bar stock?
