Most of the grinders we see these days seem to come with Gas Spring Cylinders as belt tensioners....... I've tried them, and wanted to like them, but recently made a discovery that is worth note...... after changing my KMG to direct drive last year, I started trying to use the cylinders for belt tension..... After discovering what I did, I put a post on KMT about my experiences......
