I've always wanted to make a Scandinavian style knife and finally got around to it...

The blade is W2 sandwiched with wrought iron, not quite 4 inches long, handle is masur birch.

Thanks for looking.

Like that a lot.
What did you learn making it?
I have a few changes in mind for my next attempt.... there is too much curve to the edge of the blade as it joins the handle, it messes up the flow of the knife... I suspect I need thinner leather for the sheath, I probably could have used leather half as thick.... I'm not happy with the termination of the sheath, where it comes to a point, it just looks sloppy to my eye (in my defense, this is the 3rd center seam sheath I've attempted)... I should have forged the blade closer to shape, too much of the wrought iron got ground away... and then there's the blasted hanger, nothing I've made yet looks quite right. Other than that, I think it turned out pretty good...

George,
You sound like me,
am my own worst critic.
I like both the knife and the sheath.
Yes, improvements can be made, but we don't know that till we try it.
That's how we learn and grow.
(Darn, I needed to hear that myself. Thanks.)
