Legend of the Lake

Just got this one completed and ready to send to KT so he can dress her up nice and purty.

The blade is 8" long and is 13 layers of 1080 and 15N20. The handle is elk antler with a copper band and natural gut sinew. Over all length is whopping 18" from tip of blade to tip of antler.

Wow very cool,that's the big brother to one I did about 7 Years ago.Sitka black tail bison horn and 5160.I gave it to my youngest boy and he used it to help me skin this brown bear two years ago.

Wade yours shows so much better work then mine does and I hope you don't think I am comparing them. I just thought how cool it is that the handles are so alike.By the way that was my first attempt at using nothing but a hammer and forge to build a knife.

Ak, That is a very nice first and I wasn't thinking you were comparing :001_smile:. I have made one other with this style handle and it went very quick, people seem to like the style.

Wade that reminds me of the knife Brad Pitt used in "Legends of the Fall". Great movie...
I love it...of course I love it, your work always impresses me. I'm sure "the kid" will do it justice.
Wonderful looking knife...looks like lots of sweaty work!
