lightweight fighter,,,, i think,,,,..lol

It could just as easily, maybe even more correctly, called a camp knife, which in itself a rather loose definition. Also a fighting knife is what you have in your hand when things get up close and ugly.

I agree with Doug. Camp knife seems like a better description.

Though there were doubtless knives used for "fighting" that were guardless, I think most these days would want a guard on a "fighter". Also it has too much belly and not enough point for a typical fighter.

Not that any of it really matters.

as long as the knife cops don't beat me down for a false description,,lol
camp knife it is then !!! Thanks Gents,,,
can you steer me to some good references I can read about knife classification?

References on knife classifications? People around here can't even agree what a bowie knife is or whether it's pronounce as bo wee or boo wee or if it's spelled with a B or a b. I go with the latter spelling because the term is so generic nowadays.

Doug

Yeah...that's in the same reference work that clarifies which is best, 9mm or .45, Ford or Chevy, baitcast or spincast, and pizza or cheeseburgers. :)
