Logo Etch on Damascus

Hello all - been playing around a bit with etching logo on Damascus. It doesn't show up very well etched over the Damascus etch pattern. What is best way to do this? My idea is to sand blade to 800/1,000 grit, clean really good, then etch logo. Then, take scotch tape to block off an area around logo, paint with fingernail polish and let dry. Then remove all tape leaving fingernail polish covering logo etch. Then do normal Damascus etch. Once pattern is etched as desired, clean with soapy water. Clean and complete Damascus etch to final look as normal for Damascus etching (good info from Ed and others there). Once the Damascus pattern is fixed as desired, use acetone to remove fingernail polish to expose logo etc.

Does that sound reasonable? OR - I'm certainly open to correct way to do this.
