New Camo Hunter

Finished up a new hunter today except for sharpening. This was a re-handle of one I made that I didn't like the way it turned out. I like it better now. I have three blades ready for heat treat, hopefully tomorrow night. Also have several blades profiled ready for bevel grinding. Trying to get a few more done before Christmas.

That's a truly beautiful knife. I love that dyed burl wood. Those micarta pins just disappear. Very nice work.

Both handles turned out very nice. My only problem with camo handles is the thought that it might get layed on the ground and the blade goes under the dried grass and leaves and the handle just blends into the background. I remember once helping a friend search for a wounded dear while we were both wearing camo. About every five minutes one of us was going "will you move so I can see you". I could could see the knife getting lost or you having to crawl around on your hands and knees for several minutes to find it.
