pc etchen patina?

i would like to darken & etch some stainless steel after im thinking polished steel with dark hi lights will pc etch do the job staining the ss if not what would be the easy way

Archers Etchant, ferric chloride, will do it . i use mine if i remember righted mixed in a 1:3 ratio with water. The stainless just has to soak longer, 440c was like 5-8 min and cpm154cm was like 15min, you will just have to watch it and see what works for ya.
