Plunge Line Tutorial

The material I am using in the Tutorial is 3/16.
I have done 1/8 the same way, with the same file and there is no difference.

The only thing that a different size file will do is chance the pitch/curve of the plunge.

great tutorial!

a chainsaw file can also be used on hardened steel... great to fix plunge lines

Well, I put what I learned from your Tutorial to use today!! PLUS something ELSE I learned from your Tutorial that was a "side benefit" for me. Now I just have to get busy Grinding!! Just aren't enough hours in the day!!

That´s true a 48 h day would be cool sometimes

Anyway I did the same and put it in use last night and WOW that was fun.

Takes away the stress of grinding too far back and messing up the wanted ricasso

Actually I also figured out that it´s not really necessary to file all the way up

The 45 degree cut at the beginning is good enough to get even ,matching plunge lines

I´ll def stick to Ernie´s way of making plunge lines

THANKS Ernie you ROCK !!!!!
