Relief cut in liner

I'm working on a couple of large liner locks, and i am using .078 Ti for the liners and going to put 1/8"G-10 for scales.
Question is do I need to cut a relief grove in the lock down to about .050 or will it be OK as is.I'm wondering if it will be too stiff.:les:
Thanks
Stan

It depends on how long the lock bar is. I have made knives out of .100 and not relived it any. A 5 inch lock bar is good for that! :)

If you need to loosen it up, you should be OK to take it down to .050 though...
