Relief cut in liner

I'm working on a couple of large liner locks,and i am using .078 Ti for the liners and going to put 1/8"G-10 for scales.
Question is do I need to cut a relief grove in the lock down to about .050 or will it be OK as is.I'm wondering if it will be too stiff.:les:

It depends on how long the lock bar is. I have made knives out of .100 and not relived it any. A 5 inch lock bar is good for that!

If you need to loosen it up, you should be OK to take it down to .050 though...

That length you will probably have to relive it.... Maybe not though...

You might be able to drill some holes in it where you want the bend.
