If you can't take the time to read the simple rules and follow them, you can't have a raffle here. We are trying to keep everything above board and with no hassles.

We will use this area for raffles and auctions. These raffles or auctions can be for a worthy cause of your your choice or they can be a way to move out a knife or other knife related item and you get the funds. This can be a fun way to sell a knife.

Moderators for this area are: Go Mike, Jeff Pearce, Bill Coye, and Jake Mello.... They own the hammer.

1. One Auction and Raffle at a time. (revised 4/3/10)
2. Auctions are limited to 7 days. Raffles are limited to 14 days. If the raffle isn't 'filled up' the raffle owner can cancel it and return all funds or figure out a way to have a drawing with less than the full count.
3. Raffle number selection process is to be declared in advance and must be based on a public lottery from somewhere. The numbers have to come from a public Pick Three lottery that others can verify independently. Either the first two or last two in the three number sequence win. Some people get real fussy about all this. I don't blame them.
4. Fundraisers jump ahead of non-fund raisers. Keep in mind, there may be other fund raisers in line already.
5. You should ask to be put on the list and the list will be kept up and public.
6. Decisions of mods are final.
7. If you are running a raffle or auction, it is up to you to keep up with it every day through conclusion.
8. You must state the minimum opening bid for an auction and honor it if someone bids the minimum.
9. All raffle numbers are to be assigned in sequence. No one can pick their own number.
10. Raffles are limited to a maximum of 100 slots.
11. You have a choice of 100 or 10 place raffles. I understand the appeal of filling a 100 place raffle but some times a simple 10 place raffle is just as good and will raise the same amount in a very short time. Filling 100 spot raffles is not always easy.
12. Benefit raffles must have clearly defined recipient(s) and clearly defined mechanisms by which said recipient(s) receive donated monies. Total transparency.

Raffle Spot Purchasers: You must post in the thread saying how many spots you are purchasing (and say who they are for, if they're for other people). That way other buyers can see that those spots are taken, if the list has not been updated yet.

Auction Rules (added 4/3/10):
These rules will apply to all auctions conducted on KnifeDogs.com unless specifically noted.

Payment method for "private" auctions are up to the auctioneer. Paypal will lock up your account for using them for a raffle.

Payment is expected with in 24 hours of winning and being notified. If some one wants to mail in a payment, they can but payment will be required to be post marked with in 48 hours of being notified. Don't bid if you don't have the funds. Don't bid if you get cold feet easily. No exceptions. Failure to pay for any reason results in being banned from KnifeDogs.com.

Bid increment is a minimum of $5. All bids less than a $5 increase will be considered void and are to be ignored. ie if an item is at $40, the next acceptable bid minimum would be $45. There is no maximum bid amount.
Any auction that falls through, will be re-posted immediately even if there is another item on auction at the same time.

This is an auction. You should expect last minute bidders. If you get sniped, don't complain. That happens and you should have bid earlier. You should anticipate the system being "slow".

All auctions, KnifeDogs charity or otherwise, will end at 9pm Central time on the day the auction ends. If a bid comes is placed with in 5 minutes of the ending time, the auction will be extended by 5 minutes. This in theory means and auction could be extended for several 5 minute blocks if we have some determined bidders. This process will repeat until the last bid is placed and the auction ends with at least 5 minutes of no further bids. The message time stamps will determine the ending bid. Once a bid is successful, another higher bid will be ignored if the auction has closed.

The auctioneer has 4 business days to ship the item.

If some one is caught running up an auction price for their own benefit, they will be banned from KnifeDogs.com for life.

All KnifeDog.com charity auctions are final. If you are at all worried about the item not being what is represented, don't bid. All private auction disputes will remain private and be handled outside of KnifeDogs.com

All auctions will be for a maximum of 7 days. Forum owners may have auctions in their own sub-forums for longer periods of time.

Forum owners are not allowed to override any rule around auctions as stated here with out Bossdog's specific approval in advance.

End Auction rules:

Did I miss anything? If I did, say something. We don't need bad blood because there was a misunderstanding that could have been prevented.
