S30V, re-heat treat?

After it's already been heat treated, can you do a re-do?
I have a blade I want a bit harder.

If so, how too?
Or refer me to where to look.
 
The process is actually no different than what you did the first time. Austinizing will erase the effect of any previous heat treatment. If you think that the softness is due to retained austinite you can correct for that during your repeat heat treating or you can lower the tempering temperature to obtain a higher HRc.

You're not the only one who's overlooked the obvious. This question pops up fairly regularly. I've had several duhh... moments myself.
