Threaded rod for pivots?

Hey guys, I had a thought... I have a bunch of threaded couplers that I am trying to use like loveless style pins. They work great for handles, but I was wondering if there was any way to use them for a pivot? I use regular screws for the handles, but I was wondering if a screw were to be hardened, would it hold up as a pivot? Or would the threads wear down and eventually cause me too much distress?

Thanks for any help

You wouldn't want anything actually rotating around threads if that's what you are asking.

There are some good pivots out there, purpose designed for the task.

Use those, you will be happy you did.
