this is one i did for destruction tests.
the specs: 1055 drop forged carbon steel
my designed pyramid spike
cold blue tigerstriped over bead blast.
black gunkoted hickory handle.
polished bevels..

it is a process which you put the metal into a punch and die press and the steel is punched to the desired shape..
we take blocks of 1055 carbon steel and pound them on the press till they are almost to the desired thickness then we finish forging on the anvil..then they are taken to the grinder and we finish shaping..heat treated finished and viola 1 custom tomahawk.in my opinion a thick block pounded down is the best way to forge a hawk...

we are in the midst of doing some destruction testing on these
i will post some vids when we get them all finished..
 
Hey Thanks. I was not familar with the term. I figured it had something to do with something heavy being dropped on it to shape the metal.

will do murph.. i took this one out a few days ago and spound a 1/4" steel fire ring withthe spike and so far the spike won every time lol..no damage..also pounded a piece of unheated ats-34 and pounded it still no damage..will do some vids here pretty soon..
