Too Thin?

I tried to grind a larger knife than what I have previously worked on. I had a heck of a time trying to keep the grind lines straight and ended up taking the blade to a thickness of .030. Is this too thin to send off for heat treat? The blade is 10 3/4 inches overall. It is ATS-34 that is 1/8 thick. I have attached a photo for reference.

I don't think it's too thin, but it doesn't hurt to contact the company that will be doing the HT. You might want to give Brad a call at Peter's heat treat.

.030" will be fine you could even go to .020" if you want.

ya .030 is fine...i had brad do 12 of mine at that and they were all fine and straight after HT

.030 is fine just don't forget to drill you holes in the tang.

On stainless and other air hardening steels, I have gone as thin as .010 with no problems. You will be fine.
