Unlucky day

Man I had a very unlucky day today . First : this afternoon about 2:37 pm someone got into my mailbox and swiped 1 esse Junglee 200$ . Then My dog started chasing dear , ran me stupid . I then came home and decided to go to my little armory , as I was walkng down the steps , I tripped on a little tiny cat toy , missed five steps bounced on my butt about 3-4 times then crashed into a china cabinet with my right heel '
Heel is broken and my achillies tendon is bruised real bad . My foot looks like something out of a donald duck cartoon . When I went to call for some help ... My phone was dead and computer was not signing in ?
my wife is out of town .
Right now I am hiding behind the couch lest I break my neck ............. I finally was able to get phone service by hooking up my hard line to an old princess phone . Called the wife , she is staying all night with her mother for a dr. appt Thursday. LOL ...................................:s8936: I guess its me and the dogs tonight ....

You Bet ... I feel ok just cant walk ... Its my fault the falling , but the blade Grrrrr I missed catching him/ her by minutes .....Lucky them
I was packing a 5.7 ......................................

Maybe if you took that fall with the Junglee in hand things wouldn't have turned out so GOOD....glad you survived the day!

Thanks Fellers , I am pretty sore today . I am not going to the DR. I mean what can they do for a broken heel ? put a caste on it !
I heal better when Dr's are not involved. All they do is charge a fortune . Unless its something serious ,I dont do doctors. Thanks for the kind words , I appreciate it . Will be ok in a couple weeks ? Regards Bubba

You might want to re-think that doctor thing. My father in law was in wreck years ago and when braking he hit a big rig jackknifed in the road. The impact broke his heal where he had it across the brake pedal. He went by ambulance to the hospital. The family doctor who saw him was some what of a miracle worker himself. He was one the only doctors in his day and time to cure someone from lockjaw! Only to have him die three months later from another infection, unrelated to that incident!
He took one look at the x-rays it and sent him to another hospital to a specialist. He said a heal break was one of the worst things to get set and if not set properly the foot would usually bother him for the rest of his life. Any way that's food for thought!

Sorry the whole thing happened, somedays it ain't worth gettin out of bed, you know! Hope that made you laugh, you sound like you could use one!!!

I appreciate the info . I needed something . One good thing came out of it .... Got my esee Junglas back . Wait until you hear this bull story from the Post office. They sent me an email as per the tracking info , PO said they delivered the Knife at 2:37 pm the 14 th . No mail in box !
This morning I called the PO again and asked them why they put a pkg in mail box that was too big ? The guy started with the typical
beaurucratic mumbo Jumbo , we had a few words ( not pleasant ) 1 hr. later the blade is in my mailbox .??? It was supposed to be 1 day delivery ! I presume they knew that it could not be delivered in one day , so they marked it as delivered to make thier schedual look good .
I called a friend of mine who is long time postal employee and he said the PO are the biggest story tellers in the Govt .
Employess steal millions of dollars worth of cash , goods , stamps and anything of value . Check this link next time you send pkg by USPS

We can take this discussion a LONG ways off original topic getting into the Post Office shenanigans, but I'm with you on it, Bubba. My costs this last year, in 2013, were in the 3 thousand dollar range of losses due to USPS. Crazy. I'm still on my feet but I'm a little bitter.

Wow Frank thats a pretty big hit. I guess being bitter about it , is about all we can do ? I lost a Katana dealing with ebay once ( big bucks)but, thats a discussion for another time ...... Regards Bubba

sawcane

I got tired of setting around , so I made a saw cane from Oak stock . It works pretty good actually . I need to get a better rubber cushion for bottom . Now if I could figure a way to install a blade ?...........................................................

Necessity is the mother of invention! Cool cane! LOL

Really Bubba-San I am sorry to hear about your fall, but the good news is that you didn't fall on your head and crack your skull with no one around the house to even know that you got hurt!

Hang in there, you will heal up soon.

Hang on it ain't over with yet . I friging fell again . I was walking down a long hallway and the dog came flying around the corner chasing the cat. I fell with a knife in my hand ( open no less) cracked my gourd on the floor and hurt my shoulder . Did not cut myself , maybe my luck is changing ??????? Naaaaa.

Bubba-San,

OK I wasn't going to tell this story but maybe I can show I really do sympathize with you.

I will try to keep it as short as possible. I have worked construction all my life. In 1995 we had an impending hurricane headed to our area! So we were actually rebuilding beachfront homes between hurricane Erin and Opal here in NW Florida, in 1995!

They hit almost three months apart. When it was determined that Opal was indeed headed our way we went to board up and clean-up mode on the beach at several of our job-sites. Well if you have ever had a dumpster on a construction project, EVERYONE wants to use it! A company that had been cleaning the AC ducts in some of the units we working on had used some kind of powder chemicals that they blew into the ducts to kill any mold that had begun to grow after Erin. A cardboard box with a plastic liner that had contained such chemicals had been thrown at our dumpster. While cleaning it up I picked it up and probably a cup of the powder left in poured out onto my shoe. "Dang it", I thought I got that crap all over my one foot!:31:

Not thinking much of it I stomped my foot and got the majority off of it. I was wearing a leather / canvas hiking boot and their was now a big spot of powder on the material. We worked all day till late in the pouring rain ahead of the approaching storm boarding up many places on the beach. By the end of the day my foot had gotten very burn-y feeling.

I got up the next morning in near squalls of rain and knowing time was short I put on a socks and shoved my now so very sore foot into a boot. I boarded my house as well as two others in my neighborhood for friends. When I came in about 10-11 that morning and pulled of my now soaked clothes and shoes the foot from yesterday was hurting extremely bad.
The sock on that foot seemed to be stuck and when I finally peeled it off, skin on my foot came off when I removed the sock and it begin to bleed.
I could not get too a doctor that day as the storm was nearing landfall and the next morning after the storm I went to the ER. They told me that I had second and third degree burns on my foot. Whatever that was in the box had given me chemical burns and that I had to take it easy and debris the wounds 2-3 times a day, (that was all sorts of fun), as the wound was now infected. Well sleeping in the bed wasn't working so I camped out on the couch!

In the middle of the next night I get up to go to the bathroom and on the way back the cane they have given me to assist me in walking gets tangled in a rug in front of the couch. A rug I had already once moved and the wife put back later that day.:les: So now with the cane tangled I made a lunge trying to hit the couch in effort to protect the burnt sore foot. The rug now slides and I slammed my other foot into the leg of the couch, and broke three toes on it!

So for the next few days at least it was an "OH SHOOT" moment anytime I had to get up. I was now laying on the couch with one foot burned and half infected and the other purple and swelled near twice its size! After everyone got through laughing at me they were fairly nice too help out. Except I think my kids were charging admission to their friends to comes see stupid. I would be asleep and wake up too see another neighborhood kid standing and looking at my feet and snickering or outright laughing. My daughter still to this day seems to draw a weird since of pleasure in telling this story!!:1:

SO BROTHER I CAN FEEL YOUR PAIN!:what!:

Sounds about like what happened to me . My shoulder and head are feeling OK . My hands are feeling better , but, my heel is about where it was . Cant put any weight on it . Doesnt hurt when sitting or laying. It does hurt like heck when I put any weight on it . Guess its time to see the DR. .... Thanks for the cheer Bubba

Bubba-San, It sounds like you broke your heel so don't put any unnessasary weight on it and go to the ER today!

They may need to put a cast on it or more? Don't wait any longer cause it could start to heel incorrectly.
