Anyone use this?

Im interested but cant find ANY pictures or info really.

Appreciate any help

Timy, I use quite a bit of it and have come to really like it. The only supplier that I know of is Jeff Petzke at Jephco. http://www.jephcosupply.com/home.html I have attached some photos for you to look at. In the tactical knife photo the knife on the bottom has warwood/fauxcarta. In the other photo I polished the material out. In the "wine" colored material I came across a void and left it to show the manufacturer.

Gorgeous knives man and thanks for the pictures!

Is the texture similar to canvas micarta or more like linen or paper?

Have you found it is as tough/durable?

Yeah, I order from Jeff for loveless and acorn bolts and just noticed the warwood.

Timy,

It has a texture all of its own; it is closer to linen though. I think you could probably do things with this stuff that you couldn’t do as well with phenolics, such as carving. I have not tried that yet though. As for toughness I would rank it on the same level. The stuff is very hard but not brittle. It works somewhere between a linen phenolic and a dense wood. If Jeff told you what it is made of you also know that it is a great breakfast cereal substitute too.

Thanks for the kind words about the knives. Take care. Curtis

Thanks man! got a few sets inbound. Very curious to try them out. Thank you again for all the help.

Mr. Svinarich, you have to call Jeff to get that info. Trust me, it will be well worth the call. Your initial response will be disbelief which we be promptly followed by the phrase "you have got to be kidding", and then disbelief again. Curtis

Yep! Warwood is made from Corn and natural resins and coloring. This is great stuff, I think it will be the next revolution to hit the knife world. Because of the all natural aspect I'm guessing colors may be in short supply , but those that just need a bright color the folks over at jephco supply carry several other types of material in pink, red, orange and others. I jigged a couple of pieces of Warwood and it really worked up nicely ( pictures to come when finished ). I've tried some similar products at a much higher price and wasn't as impressed as I am with Warwood.
