WIP - PVC Steel Stand...

TacticallySharp

KNIFE MAKER
I need a rack/stand to keep my bar stock in the new shop I basically use three types of bar stock. 1084, 1075, and 1095. These come to me from Aldo in 4' sections. To build the unit I'm using a 10' piece of 3" PVC cut into 20" lengths. I clamped them together, then glued them.

After I glued 3 sections together I stacked the 2 sets together, clamped and glued them into a single unit.

Next I will build a plywood box around the sections that is 24" high. That way the uneven section tops will be hidden from view. Now to find some scrap plywood in my wood pile...

I gathered all the scrap plywood I could find...

The only thing left to do is paint it to match the rest of the shop.

Thanks Smallshop. Well I got it painted and decided it needed wheels...

Loaded with steel from Aldo. The short 2' pieces of 5160 I got from him at blade. I plan to start on my performance test knife with it.

Everything except the ball rollers I had. The made in USA rollers cost about $10 each. The bungee cord came from the back of my truck. Now my new steel is organized and in a safe place...
