tryimg to find out more about this it says something like uoinesde steger 1816 on the top of blade. and the gaurd has a #k 88269 and 3 others on the curla d with a crown on top mand a t anyone see anything like this before?

Hi Franklin, I would check the Military surplus rifle site, they will have All the info you need, I think.
 
thanks for the tip I've looked everywhere don't care if its worth anything just curious of the history
 
thanks think im getting closer. looks like a 1876 french grass i might of read the date wrong still trying to figure that part out they say the words on top states were it was made but that part does not match the ones i saw either. well the search goes on.
