Yes, I actually do make knives

This is the knife that I made for the Xmas in July KITH. It's my first attempt at a Hudson Bay trade knife. The blade is 5 3/4" and 1 1/2" wide with an overall length of 10". The steel is 9260 which was marquenched at 510 degrees in peanut oil and then tempered for three 2hr cycles at 450 degrees. There is not much taper to the blade before the high spot on the spine and the blade was flat ground with a slight convex secondary grind on the edge

The handle is African Blackwood that was sanded out to 800 grit and then puffed. The brass washers were punched out with a die and the rivets were formed from 1/16" copper rod that were peaned over. I think that the next handle that I do like this I'll use cutlers rivets instead.
