Hey Guys, , Ive had a few guys ask me to show some pics of my little garage shop. I tried to make the best out of the room I have .

This is on the way in from garage

I have all my tools along one wall . I really dont have the room to spread things out.

This is my start and finish bench for everything . its across from grinders and saws

Little grizzley milling machine.. Awesome !

Various sanders ,

Looking back the other way . Grizzley band saw for wood and flat piece of marle on left.

Welding bench and HT oven below , with grizzley buffer on left

Few shots of my bench

I didnt want to spend 400 bucks on another buffer nor use one of those harbor freight jobs that spin way to fast for buffing ( my two sence) so I bought this variable speed grinder from sears and turned it down to its lowest setting 1700 rpm and stripped it down . Now I have another buffer , no more changing wheels . Awesome!

TW90 on left , Grizzley in middle and Jet on right

Just a pic of my flat ( dont know why Im showing this ? but its already uploaded )

Rockwell disk sander with a ryobi ( I beat the heck out of that thing and still keeps going ) and my little Miller welder

My little forge.

Anvil , 25lb little giant and surface grinder waiting to be converted to belt

This is where I keep my Ferric Chloride and beleech tubes . Just mounted to side of milling machine bench.

Oil quench tank

More stuff.

Sand Paper Rack, Ryno Wet Sand Paper, Great stuff!

Some chunks of wood

I guess thats it for now .. Ill post some pics of the disk grinders Im building as well as my forging press when they're done ..

100 pounds of stuff in a 20 pound bag .. I NEED MORE ROOMMMMMM !!!!!!

Very nice shop...how do you keep it so clean? Do you have a dust collection system? ...Teddy

I concur,
Too clean and tidy!

Very cool assortment of tools, and good usage of your limited space. How about some porn shots of that TW-90? One of those is on my wanted list!

Great use of space and selection of tools, just need a hardness tester, sorry, I know there is no end to the tool list, very nice set up you've got.

Awesome Mikey! I love shop tours and also like to see them so organized. I am an organizing freak and you just gave me quite a few ideas. I can't wait to have that many tools!

Excellent job on fitting everything in a tight spot and still making it look comfortable to work in. I really like your start and finish area also...

Hey Teddy , No I dont have a dust collection system . Ive been looking into it , but trying to find a place for it is the killer.

Hey Lee and Laurence , I try to keep a clean shop . remember , I dont do this stuff for a living . After a few knives , I pull out the dust broom and vacuum and get to work. I like my stuff in order , it just makes things easy to find and easy to work when everything has a home.

Hey Mark , I dont have a hardness ester yet , but I do have those harness tester files. They're not as accurate as a tester , but for me they're fine for now.

Thanks Steve, I hear you bro.. I just try to keep my stuff neat . It makes things easier.

Frank and everyone else . Thanks for the comments. I have other stuff on shelves and so many other tools in cabinets , but thats pretty much it for now.

There's no way I can get my shop to stay that clean. I can clean it from top to bottom, then just sit down and drink a cup of coffee and by the time I finish one cup it looks like they held war games in it.

Wow Mikey, nice shop! Your very well organized and well equipped I'm not surprised at the quality knives you are turning out.

thats the way i wish my little dungeon would look.i have 1/8 the tools i see there and still cant find anything without movin crap around . very nice Mike

Ill let you guys a little secret. Being that Mikey jr. Is in the shop with me most of the time. Ill slip him a 10 to give a helpin hand with the vacuum and broom lol.. Jokes aside is does get messy in there , grinding dust everywhere, but like I said , I just try to make time to clean it up and get ready for next job.

Very nice Mikey! I hope to have a shop myself someday. I work out of my garage and it is a mess.

You've got some mad organizational skills brother !

You ever think about hiring out your skills ? an interior designer for knifemakers. Yeah you'ld crush that job

Great shop and thanks for sharing

The truth comes out! Mikey Jr. is the cleaning culprit!
That is great that you have your family active with you in the knife shop.
Has young Crissy worked on her knife lately?

Yeah there is some confession there , little mikey does help clean up down there.. As for Chrissy , if you go back to the thread " One mistake after anothrer" I show my "mistake " knife sticking in the shelf and right beside it lies Chrissy's knife and template. She knows its there , I dont push her ( even though Id like to )I guess when shes ready, she'll get back at it . Its only been 14 months now. Oh yeah , on a second note, she just got her drivers license. Now Im really nervous !

Great looking shop with lots of cool toys. You have almost shamed me into cleaning mine. Notice I said almost :)

There's no way you can get anything done in a shop like that Mike.
It looks like a tool museum, get a nice mess going and stumble around like the rest of us.:9:

Your organizational skills definately show in your work. The pics will give me a better reference now when we chat.
