third attempt at an integeral bolster,,,

If this is your third attempt, that don't look bad at all! Grinding to final fit and finish is where "the devil in in the details" comes into play. However you look you are well on your way and light years ahead of me!

Thanks for the kind words sir. I probably don't have a properly fitted shop to be doing this type of work, for example I don't have a milling machine. I'm sure that would make things a lot easier when it comes to fitting the scales up. But for now it's all free hand and hand filing. Wish me luck, be safe have fun!

Yes a milling machine might make the final forming of the bolster easier but you can do the same thing with files. I would choose one with a safe edge so as not to cut into steel that I wouldn't want to remove. Just remember that power machines can make grinding and machining quicker but they can also make screwing up quicker too.

finaly finished it. Manzanita burl handle. took some pieces of my old bandsaw blades and layered them to ge the steel.sorry for the bad pictures.
